Chapter 18: Hawaii

Tourism in San Diego is the third largest segment of it's economy bring in over 5.6 billion in annual revenues. It ranks second in American vacation destinations behind Honolulu. In addition to scenic beach locations, San Diego offers a wide array of activities for all ages.


Sea World

San Diego Wild Animal Park San Diego Zoo

For animal lovers, San Diego is home to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and San Diego Wild Animal Park. These three parks are the backbone of the tourist destinations, each welcoming in over 1 million visitors each year.


Balboa Park

Balboa park contains seventeen museums, nine performing arts centers, gardens, and many other attractions. The park, with its sprawling grounds, almost seems out of place given the proximity to the downtown area. It also provides a location to many of the city's cultural festivals held throughout the year.
